Priority levels

Four triage priority levels

Assign the priority level that matches the clinical urgency so patients are scheduled appropriately.

STAT

Immediate attention required. Patients needing same-day assessment are prioritized for the earliest available slot.

Urgent

Time-sensitive concerns that should be assessed within days. Include the clinical reason and any relevant prior findings.

Semi-urgent and Routine

Semi-urgent referrals are seen within the coming weeks. Routine referrals follow standard scheduling for non-time-sensitive testing.

Referral reasons

Common reasons physicians refer patients for cardiac or vascular diagnostics:

Chest pain

Palpitations

Hypertension

Abnormal ECG
